Turquoise and Amblygonite, Montebras, Creuse, France. Two hydroxy-alumino-phosphates, one of copper for turquoise, the other of sodium and lithium for amblygonite. Specimen 6x4x3.5cm. Three handwritten historical labels, one by the Marquis de Mauroy, one by Deyrolle and one by Professor J. Chervet. Chervet, a chemist and geologist, noted the presence of a rare mineral in this specimen: morinite, another hydroxy-alumino-phosphate of sodium, calcium and aluminium.
